Danny Brown announced today that his upcoming studio album will be called none other than ODB. Of course the initials usually stand for Ol’ Dirty Bastard of Wu-Tang fame, but Danny also wants it to stand out as Ol’ Danny Brown. Brown told Fuse in an interview late last week that he was 75% done with the album, and mixing is all that’s left.
Also revealed as guest appearances and contributors for the album. Appearing on the album wil lbe A$AP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Kitty Pryde, and Purity Ring. Production will be handled by SKYWLKR, Paul White, Darq E Freaker and Oh No. A Glasgow hyper-genre producer named Rustie will handle the final track.
Commenting on the final song of the album, Danny said:
He’s actually the guy that ended the album, to be honest. I was kind of stuck, and through a stroke of God, he emailed me and said, ‘Yo, I want to submit you some tracks for the album.’ I thought I was done, but I knew I needed a little more flair. He sent me seven beats, and I ended up using three of them.
No word on when it’s releasing, but Fool’s Gold will drop the album when it’s ready.
