King Britt
King Britt
The 12” EP, King Britt presents Fhloston Paradigm (a

fitting take of Fhloston Paradise, a destination from

the film The Fifth Element) was released on Hyperdub

in 2011. This established new fans of King’s work, and

revealed a sonic re-evolution to his core supporters.

Fhloston Paradigm’s muse was vintage future sound—DNA

from nostalgic science fiction... Close Encounters of

the Third Kind, Blade Runner, and Doctor Who. The

project united timeless and true facets of analog and

digital binary, with the unexpected; an invitation to

transcendence.

The Phoenix (2014), debut LP, merged sci-fi music

history and concepts, renowned and emerging artists,

ethereal sounds, and extensive experience. The Phoenix

was in every sense a re-birth... inspiring

unconventional and wondrous new methods of production;

novel for a music veteran.

The Cosmosis EPs followed, a creative timeline, which

displayed King’s sonic metamorphosis... moving heavier

into experimental sound design, and acknowledged by

notable soundtrack composers.

Organically, this project has seen various

incarnations in prestigious places including the

MoMA PS1(NYC), MoCAD(Detroit), XOYO(London), and

Womb(Japan).

Austen van der Bleek
Austen van der Bleek
Austen van der Bleek is helping usher in a tried and true American underground dance music renaissance in Florida. The sound he’s developed, through both his sets and in the works productions, has impressed legends the likes of King Britt, Roy Davis Jr., and Mystic Bill — Britt even dubbing him “too young to be this deep.” He’s the driving force behind the Open House Conspiracy parties in Orlando, bringing guests such as the aforementioned, as well as Kai Alce, Charles Webster, Keith Worthy, Mike Huckaby, and more, while also working with and earning the respect of the city’s veteran exports and originals like Michael Zucker, Sleazy McQueen, Q-Burns Abstract Message, and Manny Cuevas. He’s been sought as support for other bills featuring Project Pablo, Gene Hunt, and Tony Touch as well as more commercial figures like Chris Lake and Sasha. Whether he’s selecting for carefully curated bars and clubs or underground basements and renegade sound systems, festivals like Suwannee Hulaween or art gallery warehouses in Tucson and Orlando, open air patios and rooftops or craft beer gardens across the state, Austen van der Bleek is one of the most versatile DJs his age. He is currently based out of St. Pete. 2017 has seen him play quite a few first time destinations for the young artist like Miami, Cartagena, Detroit, Denver, and Atlanta.
