Rough Versions of The Strokes’ Early Songs Available for Streaming

Some very rough/altnerative takes of The Strokes’ earlier work have surfaced on the Internet, thanks to WFMU. These songs were recorded in December of 2000 on WFMU’s the Cherry Blossom Clinic show, with Terre, and are available for streaming over at their website. The setlist includes rough/alternative versions of songs from their debut album, Is This It, featuring different lyrics and a bit more rough band work.

The set that was recorded includes the tracks “Alone Together”, “NYC Cops”, “Soma”, “Barely Legal”, “Modern Age”, “Last Night”, “Take it or Leave it”, and “Someday”. Stream the entire recording over at WFMU’s official site, or just hear “Someday,” here via SoundCloud.
